Discover this bottle label with one of Haarlem’s most iconic attractions: the Grote or Sint Bavo church. Built in the Gothic style in 1307, the church stands as a testament to its grandeur. Before 1500 it was dedicated to Saint Bavo. Grote Kerk was a Catholic cathedral, after which it adopted the Reformed faith. Since it only became a cathedral in 1559, the term "cathedral" was never truly associated with this church. The church underwent a conversion to Protestantism during the Haarlemse Noon in 1578.
